Kawaii craft night!

Recently, I was invited to join a creative group of ladies for a Kawaii Craft night which ended up being a super cute and fun event!!! I only knew one attendee in person but two were online friends that I had been looking forward to meeting, and I ended up making new friends with common interests which is always awesome!

Danielle hosted the event and even decorated her already super cute house to match the kawaii theme! Everyone brought adorable snacks to share too, making this treat table look amaaaazing!!

Danielle set up a super cute photo booth for everyone filled with kawaii props too!! Here are some of the photos I took - I didn't go nuts since I was feeling camera shy from pregnancy but I think next time I will take more! I loooove photo booths!!

Our craft theme for the night was decoden (here is a good FAQ if you've never heard of it!). I decorated an old jelly jar in hopes to make it look like a cute cake container similar to this! Its still not done because I was worried about getting it home... I want to finish the container base with ribbons and more glitter paint, and add paper flames to the fake candles.

Everyone did a great job with their projects and it was so fun to see the different ideas executed! I really want to try decoden crafting again sometime now that I know how to do it - thank you for hosting and teaching us Danielle!!

Excited for Halloween!!

Halloween outfit ideas by sanasaurus 

 

Halloween is my favorite holiday and I actually started planning early this year about what I might like to wear to parties or events this month! Above are two ideas I'm thinking about... I have a lot of weddings to attend on the weekends of October, so I wont be able to have a full blown Halloween costume, but I might be able to go to a few events briefly and wanted a fun outfit to wear. I'm thinking the one on the left will be a spooky cute monster girl and the one on the right will be a witchy theme! I already have almost everything in this photo so it shouldn't be too hard to put together.

 

I really love window shopping at this time of the year as all the Halloween items get put out. Everything on display is super adorable and creative. Seriously - How fabulous is that Martha Stewart magazine?! It makes me want to throw a Halloween party asap! And I loooove the little cupcake and Draculaura costume - what fun ideas for kids!! I actually picked up the tiny witch hat pictured above for my witchy themed outfit, now all I need is that witch sign and a cute little pumpkin or broom. ;)

 

A lot of the drug stores and grocery stores in my area started decorating and putting out products in September too! Talk about starting the excitement early! I even spotted these awesome nail stickers at Ulta in September. I love the candy corn and bat print ones the most. I still have some of the spider web print ones from last year though so I doubt I'll be getting anymore...

 

Last but not least, some snaps of Target's set up! I think Target by far has the best Halloween decoration section. I look forward to checking it out every year, and this year didn't disappoint! I really want these plates, pennets and the little paper coffins! I really am just dying to throw a Halloween party!! (womp womp)

My application photos for the h.NAOTO fashion show...

 

On Friday I found out that Japanese designer h.NAOTO would be doing a fashion show at Anime Weekend Atlanta and they were searching for models, so I applied!! I don't know if I will make the cut off since they started selecting models on the 15th, and I accidentally forgot to include my height and weight because I was rushing... But it was a fun excuse to dress up and either way I'm sure I'll have fun at the event whether I'm watching or participating. Also, I thought I'd share with you guys some of the fun photos that Chris took of me for this since I rarely get all dolled up for fancy photos these days. 

Above is a close up of my make up! I cut lashes in half and doubled them up at the ends for a dramatic funky effect. My eye make up was lots of shimmery black and silver - it was actually much darker than it appears in the photo! The lips were a pinky nude color and I didn't apply on blush.

 

These were the two photos I sent in for my bust and full body shots. It was such a tough choice to make - h.Naoto's models seem very different from how I normally carry myself and I was trying to look serious/bad ass and not smile... LOL!! I decided to send these in based on what people I know who are familiar with the brand said to me. Fingers crossed!!

What's funny is the above photo is the one most people said I should send in! I like it a lot too, but I don't really think it fits the brand's image. I ended up using it as a facebook profile photo instead. ;)

And these were the rejected full body photos. I was being too cutesy goofy I think! I do like them though :D

I'll let you guys know if I hear anything back! And if I don't get selected, well then I'll try to take some awesome pictures of the fashion show instead while I'm there! Wheee! Are any of you going to Anime Weekend Atlanta? I haven't been in a few years so I'm really looking forward to it!

Today started off with a bit of work... I had to run some errands which involved picking up beer for Highgroove's "Tech Talk" event! Check out this super pink beer I spotted!! It's from Portland's Voodoo Doughnut shop apparently - how cool! I'm not a big bacon person, but I really want to try it :9 

 

 

After finishing my work for the day I met up with Molly for shopping and snacks in Little 5 Points! I had so much fun with her!! We ate tacos, window shopped at some crazy thrift stores (check out the wild 80's dress Molly has on above!! hahaha I love it), got coffee and dessert, and then picked up some miscellaneous things at Junkman's Daughter.

If you haven't been to Junkman's Daughter before, its a giant funky indie shop that carries clothes, gifts, accessories, home decor, shoes, and a ton of other things. It's one of the few retailers in the city that carries a lot of the things I like to order online clothes and accessory wise. I really wanted the giant Kuromi statue above!!! But I was trying to be good and not go shopping because I'm saving money for my trip to Hawaii in October. I did really well until I spotted this super cute cape...

It's by Hell Bunny and is very gothic lolita looking (in my opinion!) - I love the little heart pockets and pretty lace. It took me a bit to decide if I was going to buy it but after we browsed the whole store I finally caved - and I'm really glad! It's such a neat piece and I can't wait to wear it soon!

After shopping Molly and I went our separate ways and now I'm home eating dinner and relaxing with Chris. <3 Time to sign off and maybe go watch a movie! Whee!

What I've been up to lately!

It's been a while since I last blogged... I've been really busy with my new part time job as a Personal Assistant for Highgroove Studios! Along with that I'm taking a ton of exercise classes: kickboxing, TRX, Arms & Abs, Pilates and sometimes Tread & Shred if I wake up on time. ;) I've also been making new friends, doing a little bit of shopping/Monster High browsing, getting ready for my upcoming trips to Colorado and Hawaii, making new inspiration boards and playing a ton of "Jurassic Park Builder" on iPhone! I've even started planning a possible Halloween costume of a cute monster girl - hence me testing out vampire teeth below... heheh!

 

 

 

 

 

Let's see - what else! I've also been reading and watching a ton of Sailor Moon which I'll blog about later... Doing my nails with cute hello kitty and bow details, going on fun food adventures and I even finally learned how to shoot a gun with out getting upset! That was one of my goals for this year... Turns out I just needed to use a smaller gun because the sound and the kick back was scaring me. Now that I know what I'm doing it's kinda neat to hit the circles on the target sheet! The shooting range by our house is very nice too - I think it's sorta set up for dates because it has really nice artwork everywhere, free cookies and coffee, comfy couches and everyone is so nice... lol! I look forward to going back with my boyfriend and learning how to hit targets better! 

Anyhow - I plan to start blogging again now that I've gotten used to my new work and exercise schedule! ALSO! I've noticed something is wrong with my site and it keeps redirecting to "imeetzu", and I apologize for that. :( I contacted typepad to get it sorted out and hopefully that will be fixed soon!! I have no clue why it's happening... I guess my site was hacked :\
